अनुच्छेद 51. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति और सुरक्षा की अभिवृद्धि— राज्य, —
(क) अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति और सुरक्षा की अभिवृद्धि का,
(ख) राष्ट्रों के बीच न्यायसंगत और सम्मानपूर्ण संबंधों को बनाए रखने का,
(ग) संगठित लोगों के एक दूसरे से व्यवहारों में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विधि और संधि-बाध्यताओं के प्रति आदर बढ़ाने का, और
(घ) अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विवादों के माध्यस्थम् द्वारा निपटारे के लिए प्रोत्साहन देने का,
प्रयास करेगा।

Article 51. Promotion of international peace and security— The State shall endeavour to—
(a) promote international peace and security;
(b) maintain just and honourable relations between nations;
(c) foster respect for international law and treaty obligations in the dealings of organised people with one another; and
(d) encourage settlement of international disputes by arbitration.
