India wins ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2025
- India’s first title → defeated South Africa in the final.

ISRO launches India’s heaviest communication satellite GSAT-7R (CMS-03)
- Successfully launched on 2 November 2025 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
- Launched using ISRO’s most powerful launch vehicle, the LVM3-M5 → inserted into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).
- Designed and developed indigenously by ISRO’s U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) → weighs nearly 4,400 kg.
- Primarily designed for the Indian Navy to provide robust and secure communication coverage across the Indian Ocean Region.
PM Modi to inaugurate first Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC)
- ESTIC 2025: a flagship government event in the field of S&T to be held annually → 1st edition will be held from 3-5 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
- PM Modi will launch a ₹1 lakh crore fund on 3 November to promote private sector-driven investments in R&D.
ICMR seeks partners to develop antibody against Nipah virus
- Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has invited Expression of Interest for the development and production of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against Nipah viral disease.
- Nipah virus: a zoonotic virus that transmits from animals to humans, primarily carried by fruit bats → can also spread through contaminated food or directly between people.
- Can cause asymptomatic infection or acute respiratory illness and fatal encephalitis.
- Emerged first in 1998-99 in Malaysia, and has caused nearly annual outbreaks in Bangladesh and India since 2001.
- Case fatality: 40%-75%.
- No specific treatment or vaccine is available.
- Monoclonal antibodies
- Lab-made proteins derived from a single clone of B cells, designed to bind a specific antigen.
- Help immune system to destroy harmful cells (such as those affected by cancer or viruses), block abnormal growth, and deliver drugs directly to targets.
