The 15th Indian Organ Donation Day was addressed by the Union Health Minister, J P Nadda, in New Delhi on 2nd August 2025. It was organized by the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) and held under the year-long national campaign “Angdaan- Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyan.”

Awards were presented to honour outstanding contributions in organ donation and transplantation. Tamil Nadu won the best state award, Puducherry the best union territory, and Manipur received the best northeast state award. Telangana has the highest deceased organ donation rate in India.

India leads the world in hand transplants and ranks third globally in the total number of organ transplants after the US and China.

The launch of the Aadhar-based NOTTO online pledge website in 2023 enhanced public participation in organ donation. The Organ Donation Month was also observed in July 2025 as part of the “Angdaan- Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyan” to promote organ donation.
