Gyan Bharatam International Conference
- Conference schedule and venue: 11-13 September 2025, New Delhi → organised by the Ministry of Culture.
- Theme: Reclaiming India’s Knowledge Legacy through Manuscript Heritage.
- Coincides with the 132nd anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Parliament of the World’s Religions held in Chicago in 1893.
- PM Modi participated in the conference on 12 September 2025 → launched Gyan Bharatam Mission and Gyan Bharatam Portal.
Gyan Bharatam Mission (GBM)
- a Central Sector Scheme with Rs. 482.85 crore outlay approved for 2024–31 → was announced in the Union Budget 2025–26, and formally launched at the Gyan Bharatam International Conference.
- Aims to preserve, digitize, and disseminate India’s manuscript heritage → intends to cover more than one crore manuscripts.
- Replaces National Manuscripts Mission (launched in 2003).
- Gyan-Setu: a National AI Innovation Challenge, launched by the Ministry of Culture under GBM.
India votes in favour of UNGA resolution on Palestine state
- The resolution, titled ‘Endorsement of the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution’, was jointly introduced by France and Saudi Arabia.
- Adopted with 142 nations voting in favour, 10 against (including Argentina, Hungary, Israel and the U.S.) and 12 abstentions.
- This resolution/declaration was produced by the international conference held at UN Headquarters (New York) in July 2025, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia.
PM Modi to inaugurate Bairabi-Sairang railway line project
- To be inaugurated on 13 September 2025.
- It will connect Mizoram’s capital, Aizawl, with the Indian Railways network for the first time.
- Aizawl is the 4th northeastern capital city, after Guwahati, Agartala, and Itanagar, to be connected to the Indian Railways network.
- Both Bairabi and Sairang are located in Mizoram.
